Rumors finally came true when Mercedes Mone made her AEW debut at Big Business last week. Kicking off the show with her surprise appearance, Mone featured with a new character, as the CEO, and was welcomed by the fans in AEW. With her move, this turns out to be another former WWE superstar that Tony Khan has signed a contract with.
Before Merced Mone, the star was known as Sasha Banks who made a massive legacy during her stint in WWE. Featuring as the Boss, Banks was considered as one of the four horsewomen of WWE. However, since her departure from the company, she has chosen to go by the name Mercedes Mone.
Addressing her AEW debut and the difference between her character in the company against Sasha Bank’s Boss character, the former Women’s Champion revealed that she was on a mission to make AEW Global. In an interview on NBC10 Boston, the newest member of AEW stated that her decision to move to the company was because of a mission.
“Sasha was a boss, but a boss is someone that demands something. A CEO is on a mission. I am on a mission to make AEW global. That’s exactly what we’re about to do. We have the top wrestlers from all around the world. If you watch every week on Dynamite, you’re not going to want to miss anything.”
Following her debut on AEW Dynamite last week, Mercedes Mone is set to make an appearance at this week’s show as well. With a segment announced for the former WWE superstar, a storyline might be seeded for Mone on Dynamite this week.
