What’s Next for Jinder Mahal?

Another Championship Run

It’s not entirely unlikely that Mahal pulls a Swagger and disappears. Remember: Swagger didn’t disappear overnight. He even won an Elimination Chamber match in 2013. So barring Jinder getting high in his car, I think it’s safe to assume he’ll get another championship reign. Will it be a WWE Championship reign? Intercontinental? United States? Universal? It’s hard to say. Considering Jinder’s a young boy (he’s only 31), there’s still plenty of time for him to pick up another championship.

If he does become a champion again, hopefully WWE realizes their mistakes with his first reign and don’t repeat them. That means no more “angry foreigner” gimmick. He can be a rich asshole a la Alberto Del Rio(he’s well educated if I remember correctly), but this tired ’80s gimmick should get a rest. Even if he’s the United States Championship, they should do their best to refrain from “USA sucks eggs” promos.

Come a year from now, and I won’t have any problems with another Jinder reign. Just give him time to improve (even just a little bit), and it will do wonders. Mahal already carries himself like a champion; maybe it’s time he learned to wrestle like one.
