Austin Theory might not be on TV right now, but that doesn’t mean WWE is done with him.

In an update from WrestleVotes on October 21, 2025, it was reported that Theory is still in the conversation when it comes to creative planning—despite being sidelined and missing from WWE programming for months.

“Sources indicate there are still voices within the company pushing to keep Austin Theory involved in creative plans, even after the recent shuffling caused by Seth Rollins’ injury. The idea of Theory joining The Vision was at least discussed, and he still has internal support moving forward to reappear on TV in a significant manner.”

Theory’s absence has left Grayson Waller to take the spotlight, and WWE even split the two up on-screen. But internally, it seems not everyone is ready to write Theory off just yet. His name continues to come up when long-term storylines are being pitched, particularly around The Vision faction, which took a big hit with Seth Rollins’ injury and subsequent surgery.

While there’s no official word on when Theory will return to the ring, the fact that he still has strong backing behind the scenes shows WWE sees value in keeping him around in some capacity. Whether that means a full comeback at Survivor Series WarGames or something further down the line remains to be seen.
