WWE had made special arrangements for Billy Gunn to appear during the D-Generation X reunion segment on the October 10th, 2022, edition of RAW, but Daddy Ass couldn’t join his friends on the red brand.

Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a Billy Gunn Birthday Bash segment with The Acclaimed. Daddy Ass showed up in the ring with his fingers taped due to a storyline injury he suffered last week on Rampage.

The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens told the crowd he had something very special planned for Billy Gunn tonight. Bowens said he had Daddy Ass’ old friends to join him before taking a subtle jab at D-Generation X’s Raw reunion.

“To be honest with you, I’d planned so much more for tonight. I had special guests from Daddy Ass’s past, but unfortunately two canceled last minute and the rest were kind of upset you didn’t go to the reunion.”

Billy Gunn previously stated he would have loved to have been a part the DX reunion, but he understands why it didn’t happen. Check out The Acclaimed’s full segment with Daddy Ass below.

Katsuyori Shibata was putting on incredible performances before he got himself injured during his critically-acclaimed match against Kazuchika Okada at NJPW’s Sakura Genesis event in 2017. Tonight, the New Japan star showed up on AEW Dynamite.

Katsuyori Shibata appeared following Orange Cassidy’s successful All-Atlantic Championship defense against Luchasaurus and Rey Fenix. Shibata arrived to make the save for Cassidy from Pac, who was on the verge of destroying the champion.

Shibata entered the ring as Cassidy picked himself up. The NJPW star pointed towards Freshly Squeezed’s All-Atlantic Championship. Cassidy offered him a contract. Shibata signed the contract and the match was made official for Rampage this Friday.

Shibata previously appeared on AEW during the Forbidden Door pay-per-view event. The NJPW star appeared to make the save for Orange Cassidy from Will Ospreay after their match.

Malakai Black formed House of Black with Brody King and Buddy Matthews as its strongest foundations. Black recruited Julia Hart into the faction by convincing her to turn against Varsity Blonds. Tonight, the House teased a reformation.

AEW dropped a cryptic House of Black video package during Dynamite tonight. The vignette showed Julia Hart disposing of the bodies of Malakai Black, Brody King and Buddy Matthews.

The package ended with Black rising from the grave. Other members of the House experience some kind of resurrection as well. AEW aired a similar promo during a previous episode of Dynamite as well.

The faction last appeared together during their six-man tag team match at All Out. Malakai Black, Brody King and Buddy Matthews squared off against Sting, Darby Allin and Miro that night.

Malakai Black requested some time off from AEW to deal with mental health issues, and he was granted a condition release. We’ll have to wait to see what’s next for House of Black. Keep reading Ringside News for more.

The Elite were stripped of the AEW World Trios Tag Team Championship following a brawl with CM Punk and Ace Steel. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were accused of villainizing Punk after the brawl as well. Tonight, the trio got another vignette during Dynamite.

AEW teased The Elite’s return to television with a vignette during Dynamite this week. The new video showed someone digitally replacing The Elite with Death Triangle as the AEW Trios World Tag Team Champions and putting the trio on the cover of AEW graphic for Dynamite and Rampage.

AEW originally aired The Elite’s return teaser during Dynamite last week. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks are likely to go after the Trios Tag Team Championship when they make their television return to the company. You may check out the new teaser below.
