Global Force Wrestling’s Eddie Edwards won Pro Wrestling NOAH’s GHC Heavyweight Championship and became the first American to do so.

The former ROH world champion defeated Katsuhiko Nakajima on August 26 to become the Global Honored Crown champion at NOAH’s Summer Navigation 2017  Vol. 2 event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Nakajima defeated Takashi Suguira in October 2016 at the Great Voyage 2016 in Yokohama Vol. 2 event to win the title and held it for 307 days.

This is the result of Jeff Jarrett exchanging talent and establishing ties with a number of international promotions including Pro Wrestling NOAH. Eddie Edwards is still under contract with GFW, but has worked with NOAH earlier in his career.
