Ric Flair isn’t sweating being left out of WWE 2K25 — and it’s got everything to do with the money.
In a new interview with Escapist Magazine, the Hall of Famer said there’s little cash to be made from the game unless you’re front and center on the cover. When asked if he was surprised not to be included, Flair explained that he already knew he wouldn’t be part of the roster because of his AEW contract. But then he got blunt about the financial side of things.
“I knew about it, but I didn’t expect to be, as I’m still under contract at AEW. Unless you’re on the cover, you don’t make any money anyway. Maybe 0.3% or some damn thing!”
Flair signed a two-year deal with AEW in November 2023, limiting his ability to work with WWE projects. His last appearance came at AEW Revolution 2024, when he managed Sting during his retirement match. The same contract also kept Flair away from WrestleMania 41.
While fans might miss controlling “The Nature Boy” in WWE 2K25, Flair made it clear the paycheck wouldn’t have been worth it anyway.
