The heated rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk almost culminated in a SummerSlam match last week when McIntyre returned to RAW following his suspension. However, his ego got the best of him, and he refused to apologize to the WWE officials he attacked at Money in the Bank, leading to GM Adam Pearce extending his suspension.

On the July 22nd edition of Monday Night RAW, CM Punk made his return for the first time since costing Drew McIntyre a chance to become World Champion at the WWE Money in the Bank PLE. Punk made a blockbuster announcement, revealing that he saw his surgeon on Saturday and got medically cleared.

Immediately after, he called out McIntyre for a fight. The Scottish Warrior stormed down in anger but declined Punk’s offer. Undeterred, Punk charged toward him, only to be stopped by WWE officials.

Adding fuel to the fire, McIntyre mocked Punk by flaunting a bracelet he had taken weeks before. This led to GM Adam Pearce coming out and making the match between the two heated rivals official for WWE SummerSlam. The bigger shocker followed, as Pearce revealed Seth “Freakin'” Rollins as the Special Guest Referee for their bout. Rollins came out, leaving both McIntyre and Punk stunned.

The Visionary mocked both of his rivals, confirming Pearce’s decision. The segment closed with Rollins celebrating while Punk and McIntyre faced off intensely.

Bron Breakker, known as “The Wolf Dog of WWE,” arrived in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the July 22nd edition of WWE RAW for a huge opportunity of his young career.

The former NXT Champion was set to battle Ilja Dragunov with a chance to become No.1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. Entering the match as a heavy favourite, Breakker showcased a slightly altered presentation.

Bron debuted a new entrance, moving away from the new entrance theme song weeks after its debut at the Money in the Bank PLE. The new theme is more dynamic, featuring Breakker emerging from the smoke, possibly to add more credibility to his character.

With this updated presentation, coupled with his impressive strength and recent dominance on RAW, Breakker won the bout over Dragunov after the referee stopped the bout due to The Mad Dragon being unable to compete, and Breakker headed to SummerSlam to face Sami Zayn for the title once again.

In a video obtained by Ringside News for the July 26 tapings of SmackDown, filmed after the broadcast of the July 19 edition of SmackDown, Theory and Waller were seen in a promo segment with boxing sensation Terence Crawford.

Terence Crawford was seen earlier in the night, assisting Cody Rhodes in fending off an attack from A-Town Down Under. Crawford came inside the ring to confront the duo during the tapings of their next week’s show.

As Grayson Waller trashed talked to him, he nominated his partner Theory to deal with Crawford and knock him out. At that very moment, Terence displayed his prowess in the boxing ring by instead knocking out Austin Theory and posing for the audience as the segment concluded.

WWE is known for its constant evolution and for introducing makeshift changes into its television programming over time to keep its fan base hooked and have them tune in each and every week for their shows.

Moreover, ever since the Paul “Triple H” Levesque regime came into power, a lot of changes in the presentation have been witnessed and well appreciated by the fans, with a new addition made in recent memory.

During the broadcast of the July 17 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, a new element was introduced. As Tiffany Stratton faced Michin in a one-on-one showdown, the results for the matches that took place earlier in the night were flashed on the screen.

The results included Andrade El Idolo’s win over Carmelo Hayes and Bianca Belair’s quick victory over Chelsea Green. With this new exciting element for television programming unveiled, we will have to wait and see if they continue to use it across other shows like RAW, NXT and Premium Live Events.
