WWE SmackDown in Toronto was already full of tension heading into Elimination Chamber, but Logan Paul took things to another level with one of the biggest troll jobs in recent memory.
The second hour of the show featured Drew McIntyre going off on John Cena, questioning what his younger self would think about how much Cena has distanced himself from WWE. “What would your old self say about how big you’ve gotten, John?” McIntyre mocked, even throwing in a dig about Cena’s receding hairline. He wasn’t done there, either. McIntyre made it clear that he no longer fears Cena and vowed that he would “bury John at Elimination Chamber.”
Things escalated quickly as Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk all made their way out, leading to a chaotic four-way promo battle. Then came the moment nobody saw coming—Cena’s music hit, and the crowd erupted. But it wasn’t Cena. It was Logan Paul.
The second The Maverick stepped through the curtain, the energy in the arena shifted, and the boos came down hard. Paul, loving every second of it, grabbed the mic and taunted the crowd. “John Cena doesn’t care about you,” he sneered, soaking in the hostile reception. He then turned his attention to everyone else in the ring, dragging every competitor in the Elimination Chamber match while also trashing the Toronto Maple Leafs for good measure.
CM Punk wasn’t having any of it. The Second City Savior charged at Paul, who immediately bolted to the back before things got physical.
The reaction to Logan Paul’s stunt was massive, proving once again that he knows exactly how to push fans’ buttons. Whether he backs up his words at Elimination Chamber remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure—Toronto won’t forget this moment anytime soon.
