AEW Plans On Returning To New York Market Several Times Before Next Grand Slam Event

The inaugural edition of AEW Grand Slam took place on September 22, 2021. The TV special took place at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. AEW advertised the second annual Grand Slam during Forbidden Door tonight.

The promotion will return to the Arthur Ashe Stadium for this year’s Grand Slam TV special. The 2022 Grand Slam edition of Dynamite airs on September 22nd. Tickets for the event will be up for grabs on July 22nd.

Dr. Britt Baker successfully defended the AEW Women’s Championship against Ruby Soho at Dynamite Grand Slam on September 22, 2021. The Rampage edition of Grand Slam featured Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston versus Suzuki-Gun in a Lights Out Match.

AEW President Tony Khan had confirmed on May 11, 2022, that Grand Slam would return to the Arthur Ashe Stadium later during the year and the event would continue forward as an annual event at the same venue.

First Look At AEW x NJPW ‘Forbidden Door’ Stage

Forbidden Door is about to go down in two hours at the United Center in Chicago. The main card will feature nine matches, including the high-stakes interim AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Pictures of the event’s stage recently made their way to social media. It is worth mentioning that the main show will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET, while the Buy-In show will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Fans anticipating the PPV’s runtime might be in for a lengthy evening of solid action. AEW already scheduled the video for their post-Forbidden Door media scrum. Media outlets were notified of this time, which indicated the event’s length.

AEW and NJPW are planning twelve matches, and three on the buy-in show, so it will be a long night regardless. Keep in mind that Forbidden Door will take place in Chicago, which is in the Central time zone.
