AEW has carved a reputation for showing color on a weekly basis. The Jacksonville-based promotion is seen to rely heavily on color to sell matches to an adult audience base. The latest match to feature the kind of violence fans were used to seeing in WWE during the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras took place last week on Dynamite.
Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho squared off against each other in a Barbed Wire Everywhere Death Match on the Fyter Fest special edition of Dynamite two weeks ago. While the match had plenty of color, it was criticized by fans for lacking coherence and containing multiple botches.
Jim Cornette also eviscerated the gimmick match on the latest edition of his podcast. The legendary manager brought up a major error AEW committed with their broadcast of the match, pointing out Jericho’s bladejob which was made all the way more evident due to camera cuts.

Kingston would eventually lose the match due to outside interference by Sammy Guevara. However, the Mad King managed to toss Jericho into a board full of barbwires to get his revenge.
