Becky Lynch Secures WWE Women's World Championship in 4/22 RAW Battle Royal

A huge window of opportunity opened on Monday Night RAW last week after Rhea Ripley announced her shoulder injury, courtesy of Liv Morgan, forcing her to vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship.

With The Eradicator out of the picture for an extended break, a huge battle royal took place in the main event of tonight’s edition of RAW, emanating from the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, for the opportunity to become the new champion seized by The Man coming around.

The Battle Royal featured the likes of top stars such as Becky Lynch, Natalya, Chelsea Green, Liv Morgan, Shayna Baszler, and Nia Jax, all looking to fill the void left by the absence of WWE’s resident Mami.

The bout came down to the final three, Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, and Becky Lynch who was taken out during the time by Jax outside the ring. But Lynch came back and the brawl was underway between them.

The closing moments saw Nia being eliminated by a combined effort by Morgan and Lynch and ended with The Man hitting the Manhandle slam on the apron to Liv Morgan to eliminate her to become the new WWE Women’s World Champion and celebrate with the entire WWE Universe in attendance.

Becky Lynch Secures WWE Women's World Championship in 4/22 RAW Battle Royal

The night that many had envisioned to be the crowning moment of Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa, collectively known as DIY did not end the way they wanted and saw a different behavior from Ciampa than usual.

The duo earned the right to challenge the new WWE World Tag Team Champions and their friends, R-Truth and The Miz last week with the match going down between the two teams on tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW.

The classic display of tag team wrestling by DIY was in full force in Columbus, Ohio, however, it was not enough to put down The Awesome Truth who managed to execute a spectacular Truth Crushing Finale on Gargano to retain their titles. As the champions stood tall, Johnny Wrestling shook their hand in respect, but Ciampa chose to walk away, refusing to acknowledge the victors in an act of disrespect.

In an exclusive with WWE released on X, WWE correspondent Jackie Redmond spoke with the duo regarding their loss. She further asked about their next goal, which enraged Ciampa who claimed that tonight was the next step and winning the tag titles was the next step before storming off and not giving a definitive answer for his actions. Johnny saw his partner’s actions and stated that he was a bit emotional and took the loss too hard.

“This was the next step, becoming the World tag team champions was the next step, there is no next step.”

While it was not DIY’s night in Ohio, things are surely looking to take an interesting turn in the tag team division. We will have to wait and see what happens next.

Gunther Declares King of the Ring Tournament Entry Upon Return to 4/22 WWE RAW

GUNTHER had dominated the entire WWE landscape for over 600+ days as the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time. But like every monumental title reign in history, it came to its demise, but GUNTHER made a strong reemergence since that night on tonight’s edition of RAW.

The Ring General’s title reign ended at WrestleMania 40 at the hands of the ultimate Underdog, Sami Zayn whose willpower and perseverance prevailed over GUNTHER and led to his title win.

GUNTHER began by reflecting on his historic title reign and thanked Sami Zayn for lifting a huge weight off his shoulders after defeating him for the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 40. Looking to begin his climb back to the top of the mountain, GUNTHER announced himself as the first participant in the upcoming King of the Ring tournament, set to take place at the King and Queen of the Ring event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and going after any WWE title he wanted to begin another lengthy reign.

The segment concluded with former King of the Ring winner Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston coming out with Woods looking to become a two-time winner and mocked GUNTHER for this title loss. In response that set the stage for any impromptu New Day vs Imperium tag team match.
