Kris Statlander Defeats Toni Storm To Retain AEW Women’s Title At WrestleDream

Kris Statlander Defeats Toni Storm To Retain AEW Women's Title At WrestleDream

AEW brought an exciting night of pro wrestling at WrestleDream. That being said, we still have the same Women’s World Champion.

AEW WrestleDream 2025 went down on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. The AEW Women’s World Title was on the line, and this was quite a war between women.

At AEW WrestleDream, the AEW Women’s World Championship match featured Kris Statlander defending her title against “Timeless” Toni Storm.

Storm is a former AEW Women’s Champion, and she wants that title back. Of course, she had to step in the ring with Kris Statlander to get it back, and Statlander worked far too hard getting to the mountaintop.

This match had a big fight feel, and each competitor got their own special ring entrance. Then they got to business, and the two of them tried their best to out-wrestle each other.

Toni Storm rocked white face paint for this match, while Kris Statlander wore all silver to match. Fans were behind both stars, as they had a massive amount of respect for them. That being said, Toni Storm was the one who struck first to really maintain control.

This match had a ton of near falls, but that should be expected in a big AEW title match during a pay-per-view.

In the end, Kris Statlander was able to take Toni Storm down with a powerful finisher and get the win. This came after Storm nearly had her in a submission, but then Storm showed no sign of quit in her. After the match, Mercedes Mone came out to taunt Kris Statlander.

AEW’s women’s division is highly competitive, and it’s anyone’s guess who Tony Khan will push to the top of the card next. WrestleDream was certainly an interesting night in Saint Louis.

What’s your take on Kris Statlander’s AEW Women’s Title reign? Do you think Tony Khan waited too long to put the top women’s title on her? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Toni Storm Demands Rematch With Kris Statlander After AEW Title Loss

Toni Storm isn’t done with the AEW Women’s World Championship—and she made that crystal clear during the October 1 episode of Dynamite. After scoring a strong win over Tay Melo on AEW’s six-year anniversary show, Storm grabbed a mic and addressed her recent title loss in front of the Florida crowd.

Still reeling from her shocking defeat at AEW All Out in Toronto, Storm admitted she’s questioning who she is without the championship. The match at All Out saw Kris Statlander pull off a surprise roll-up pin on Storm during a brutal four-way battle that also included Thekla and Jamie Hayter. That loss ended Storm’s impressive seven-month reign as AEW Women’s World Champion.

Now, Storm wants clarity—and revenge. She made it known that her business with Kris Statlander is far from over. Looking directly into the camera, she made her challenge loud and clear, telling Statlander to name the time and place for a one-on-one match. Storm’s intensity made it obvious: she’s not moving on until she gets her shot at redemption.

Update: Later in the show, Kris Statlander responded to Storm’s challenge and officially accepted. The match is now locked in for AEW WrestleDream on October 18 in St. Louis,

Toni Storm Survives Athena’s Challenge To Retain AEW Women's Title At Forbidden Door

The AEW Women’s World Championship is still Timeless.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door went down at the O2 Arena in London. This was a night full of big action, including the AEW Women’s World Title.

“Timeless” Toni Storm has been on a roll since recapturing the title. That being said, Athena cashed in her guaranteed title shot to step up in this Forbidden Door matchup.

Athena was walking into this match as the ROH Women’s Champion. Win or lose this match, Athena would still keep that gold around her waist. This match was placed second to last on the night, and fans were more than ready to see it go down.

The O2 Arena was full of chants for Toni Storm as this match got started. Eventually, Athena took control of the match as Storm sold for the challenger. This match also saw Jim Ross leave the commentary table as Bryan Danielson joined them once again, as the WWE Hall of Famer was around for the prior Unified Title match.

The two eventually started trading blows in the middle of the ring, and Athena put Toni Storm down with a headbutt, but it only got a two count out of it. The match continued and Athena proved why she’s been the ROH Women’s Champion for nearly 1,000 days.

Toni Storm nailed a Storm Zero, but she couldn’t pull down the win. Billie Starks tried to get a chair to hit Toni Storm, but then Mina Shirakawa showed up to chase her off. Toni played opossum for a bit, and then got a roll-up for a near fall. Eventually, Toni locked in her chicken wing to get the submission.

The AEW Women’s Title picture is certainly interesting. Only time will tell who holds the title next, but Forbidden Door gave the division an incredible example of what they can bring to the table.

What’s your take on how AEW booked this big title match at Forbidden Door? Do you think that AEW is really where the best wrestle? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Toni Storm Retains AEW Women’s Championship at All In: Texas

Toni Storm Retains AEW Women's Championship at All In: Texas

Toni Storm put her AEW Women’s Championship on the line against Mercedes Moné at the All In: Texas pay-per-view at Globe Life Field in a match that could have really gone either way.

For the past several weeks, Mercedes Moné had been determined to make Toni Storm’s life absolutely miserable and it was clear the CEO of AEW had the edge when it came to mind games and it all came to a head at All In: Texas.

Toni Storm and Mercedes Moné started the match with a headlock battle, then took a moment to size each other up. They tested each other out, jockeying for position. At one point, Toni Storm even started smelling Mercedes in the corner, trying to mess with her.

They locked up again on the outside and stood on the apron, keeping things pretty even. Mercedes told Toni to get back in the ring, and when Toni did, she started playing mind games with the CEO of AEW, clearly getting inside Mercedes’ head.

Toni Storm acted like she was going to dive to the outside but stopped and instead mocked Mercedes Moné by doing her taunt and even shaking her hips at her. Then she hit Mercedes with a hip attack that sent her to the floor. With some help from Luther, Toni threw Mercedes out of the ring again.

Mercedes then hit a Meteora on Luther while he was carrying Toni Storm. After that, she picked up the AEW Women’s Title, posed with it, and told everyone it was her title. Toni Storm then shoved Mercedes onto the announcers’ table and brought her up to the top rope, but Mercedes got the upper hand and hit a sunset flip powerbomb. She followed up with some kicks and another sunset flip bomb into the corner, then hit a big powerbomb on the floor outside.

Mercedes took control of the match by using Toni Storm’s hair to whip her around into a snap mare. She then hit another Meteora for a two count. After that, Mercedes locked in a head scissors submission on Storm, keeping the pressure on.

Mercedes then delivered a German suplex followed by yet another Meteora for a two count. After that, she slapped Storm across the face, but Storm fired back with a big clothesline and a Thesz Press on Mercedes. Storm then hit a Sky High powerbomb for a two count.

Mercedes then tried to hit the Statement Maker but instead locked in a keylock on Storm’s arm. Storm tried to counter it into a pin, but it ended up rolling over, and Mercedes tightened the hold even more.

Toni Storm then used a hip attack and a backbreaker to take back control. She tried to go for another backbreaker, but Mercedes countered into an armbreaker. Storm struggled and did her best to stop it from fully locking in. Storm then catapulted Mercedes’ throat into the ropes. But right after that, Mercedes hit the Three Amigos suplexes, which got a round of boos from the fans.

Storm countered a frog splash and then delivered a couple of German suplexes to Mercedes, followed by a huge third one that took her down. Storm then hit a massive hip attack in the corner and followed it up with a Storm Zero for a close near fall.

Mercedes then tried to hit a tombstone, but Storm countered it. However, Mercedes quickly reversed again into a big ankle lock, leaving Toni Storm in pain. Storm managed to counter once more, but Mercedes rocked her with a huge punch. The two then traded several hard punches back and forth as the crowd booed and cheered.

Mercedes then hit Toni Storm with a huge Monemaker, but Storm somehow kicked out, leaving Mercedes absolutely shocked and unable to believe what just happened. Storm was bleeding from her nose but she hit a tiger bomb on Mercedes for a two count.

Toni Storm showed her strength by hitting a big slam on Mercedes, but it only got her a two count. Storm then hit the Statement Maker on Mercedes, but Mercedes reached the ropes and countered. Storm quickly responded by hitting three Storm Zeroes in a row, but somehow Mercedes still kicked out at two.

The final moments of the match saw Toni Storm kiss Mercedes while she was on the top rope, then hit a Storm Zero from the top for the win, successfully retaining the AEW Women’s Title. This marked Mercedes’ first singles loss in AEW, so we’ll have to see what’s next for her.

Toni Storm Escorted By Security at Starrcast Amid Liv Morgan Stalker Fallout

Toni Storm Escorted By Security at Starrcast Amid Liv Morgan Stalker Fallout

Toni Storm showed up at Starrcast today, but not without serious backup.

Ringside News obtained footage of the AEW star being escorted to her panel table by a security—an unusual scene that had fans at the convention asking questions.

While no incident occurred at the event, the extra protection didn’t go unnoticed. With recent headlines about real-life safety concerns for wrestlers, it’s clear AEW and Starrcast organizers aren’t taking any chances. The timing is especially significant following the disturbing situation involving WWE’s Liv Morgan, who dealt with a stalker showing up armed at her Florida home.

Back in May, Canadian man Shawn Chan allegedly traveled from Scarborough, Ontario, to Florida under the guise of visiting the WWE Performance Center. Instead, he went directly to Morgan’s private residence. According to the federal complaint, surveillance footage captured Chan scoping out her home, looking for spare keys, and eventually arming himself with a .177 pellet rifle found on her porch. He then sat outside for over two hours before leaving a chilling note among her packages.

“Liv, Gianna, it’s me, Sean… the guy you all hang out with on FF2 Online,” the letter read. “I came here to pay just a friendly visit — nothing more — yet I’m the one who looks like a stalker thanks to all of you.”

In a podcast breakdown of the federal charging documents, reporter Scott Johnson described the note as “disturbing” and packed with delusions and paranoia. Morgan later told authorities, “I have no idea who this man is.”

Chan was arrested on June 3 in Orange County and remains in custody. No trial date has been announced, and he reportedly does not yet have legal representation.

Given all of this, the extra eyes on Toni Storm today don’t feel like a coincidence. AEW and Starrcast could be ramping up backstage security and escort policies to protect their talent—especially their female stars—amid a rising concern about obsessive fan behavior.

With fan access at an all-time high, how far should companies go to protect their wrestlers from situations like this? Should conventions increase police presence across the board? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think.
