Right before the main event between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley in an “I Quit” match, cameras cut backstage to show Mone visibly frustrated. The match has not been made official by AEW yet, but Mone’s challenge adds fuel to what could be one of the company’s biggest showdowns of the year. With AEW Full Gear set for November 22, 2025, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the possibility of Mone versus Statlander is already generating plenty of attention.

Kris Statlander Defeats Toni Storm To Retain AEW Women’s Title At WrestleDream

Kris Statlander Defeats Toni Storm To Retain AEW Women's Title At WrestleDream

AEW brought an exciting night of pro wrestling at WrestleDream. That being said, we still have the same Women’s World Champion.

AEW WrestleDream 2025 went down on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. The AEW Women’s World Title was on the line, and this was quite a war between women.

At AEW WrestleDream, the AEW Women’s World Championship match featured Kris Statlander defending her title against “Timeless” Toni Storm.

Storm is a former AEW Women’s Champion, and she wants that title back. Of course, she had to step in the ring with Kris Statlander to get it back, and Statlander worked far too hard getting to the mountaintop.

This match had a big fight feel, and each competitor got their own special ring entrance. Then they got to business, and the two of them tried their best to out-wrestle each other.

Toni Storm rocked white face paint for this match, while Kris Statlander wore all silver to match. Fans were behind both stars, as they had a massive amount of respect for them. That being said, Toni Storm was the one who struck first to really maintain control.

This match had a ton of near falls, but that should be expected in a big AEW title match during a pay-per-view.

In the end, Kris Statlander was able to take Toni Storm down with a powerful finisher and get the win. This came after Storm nearly had her in a submission, but then Storm showed no sign of quit in her. After the match, Mercedes Mone came out to taunt Kris Statlander.

AEW’s women’s division is highly competitive, and it’s anyone’s guess who Tony Khan will push to the top of the card next. WrestleDream was certainly an interesting night in Saint Louis.

What’s your take on Kris Statlander’s AEW Women’s Title reign? Do you think Tony Khan waited too long to put the top women’s title on her? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

That loss ended Storm’s impressive seven-month reign as AEW Women’s World Champion.

Now, Storm wants clarity—and revenge. She made it known that her business with Kris Statlander is far from over. AEW All Out had a very shocking title change.

At AEW All Out 2025, the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada was packed full of fans. During the show, the AEW Women’s World Championship took center stage.

Toni Storm defended her title in a four-way contest against Thekla, Jamie Hayter, and Kris Statlander. With four of the division’s top names colliding for the Women’s World Championship, this match could have gone anywhere.

This match could have gone any direction, and Thekla was able to get an advantage early on. Of course, any control doesn’t last forever in a fatal four-way match like this.

This match was a slugfest at many points, like when Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter had it out in the center of the ring. Thekla was able to break up that situation and steal the momentum. However, the Spider Woman’s submission hold on the champion didn’t result in a win.

Suddenly, Kris Statlander was able to get a pinfall on Toni Storm. She did so with a roll-up pin and she synched Storm’s arms down. This was a huge shock for fans as Statlander raised her hands in victory. Toni Storm was also quite surprised by this result.

Toni Storm had a good 7-month run as AEW Women’s World Champion. Now Kris Statlander, someone who has had quite a journey through the company, is on top of the mountain.
