New Titleholders Emerge from 6-Pack Tag Team Ladder Match at WrestleMania 40 Saturday

-36

WWE Universe in attendance at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philidelphia for WrestleMania 40 Saturday witnessed one of the most exciting and physically battering tag team ladder matches of all time, with Grayson Waller & Austin Theory and The Miz and R-Truth earning equal glory in the high-stakes bout.

The 6-pack tag team ladder match pitted the reigning champions, Finn Balor and Damien Priest defending their Undisputed WWE tag team titles against 5 other teams in the Awesome Truth, DIY, A-Town Down Under, New Catch Republic, and The New Day.

The match turned out to be exactly as it was expected, chaotic, physically tormenting, and death-defining moments off the ladder from each individual in an attempt to inflict maximum damage to the entire field and secure both sets of the WWE tag team championships hanging separately above the ring.

The ladder match saw exciting moments such as R-Truth’s funny antics, homages paid to superstars of the past, and temporary alliances formed. However, it was right after that Grayson Waller unhooked the SmackDown tag team titles for his team with the RAW tag titles still left to be retrieved as per the match stipulation.

As the match continued, Awesome Truth and DIY brought tables to the mix much to the delight of the Philly audience to pay homage to their ECW origins. Towards the close, the Judgment Day member JD McDonagh interfered to give his team the RAW titles only for New Day to neutralize the threat.

The conclusion saw The Miz take out Damien Priest, giving his partner, R-Truth the opening to climb the other side of the ladder and retrieve the RAW tag team titles.
