Sami Zayn Retains In Grueling US Open Challenge Match During 9/12 WWE SmackDown

The United States Title match this week was awesome.

WWE SmackDown on Friday, September 12, 2025, is taking place at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The US Title was on the line, and fans certainly saw a big match.

Sami Zayn started a US Open Challenge, and he even got John Cena’s permission to continue that tradition. This week on SmackDown, he continued with that promise as he offered a match to anyone who stepped through the curtain.

Prior to the match, they spoiled things as Rey Fenix was revealed to be Sami Zayn’s opponent tonight. This match had fans going from the opening bell, and there were a lot of near falls along the way.

Fenix was able to get out of the way and avoid a Helluva Kick, and then he got a very close two count after a DDT before they went to commercial break. We came back, and the action was still fast-paced. Vic Joseph and Booker T said they were exhausted on commentary before Sami got another near fall after a Blue Thunder Bomb. Then Sami went for a Helluva Kick, but Fenix reversed it into another near fall.

Fans chanted “this is awesome” as the match continued, which was well-deserved. Then Sami was able to nail another exploder suplex in the corner and hit a Helluva Kick for the win to retain the title.

We will have to see what’s next for the United States Title. WWE has given the championship some real attention in recent memory, and only time will tell who steps up to challenge for the title next.

Sami Zayn Moves to King of the Ring Semifinals After Wild Fatal 4-Way During 6/9 WWE RAW

WWE RAW took place on June 9, 2025, at the PHX Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. They also made their way toward crowning a new King of the Ring.

This week on WWE RAW, the King of the Ring tournament began with a qualifier match featuring Dominik Mysterio, Sami Zayn, Bron Breakker, and Penta El Zero Miedo. The match served as the first step in the tournament, with the winner advancing to the next round.

The King of the Ring tournament will continue over the next several weeks, leading to the finals. The final match is scheduled for June 28, 2025, at WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This match spanned through a commercial break. The big story of the match was trying to control Bron Breakker, which is an almost impossible task. Dominik Mysterio also almost stole the win on occasion, and Penta was incredibly over with the fans as well.

Before they cut to commercial break, Bron Breakker nailed a giant dive off the apron to take out Dominik Mysterio on the announce table. When we returned, Bron took out Sami Zayn with a top rope Frankensteiner. Paul Heyman had some words of wisdom for Breakker at ringside as this match carried on.

Bron Breakker was attacked by LA Knight at ringside as he nailed a BFT on the outside. Then Sami nailed a Helluva Kick on Dominik Mysterio and he snagged the win. Now Zayn will go on to the semifinals in the 2025 Money in the Bank tournament.

Roxanne Perez advanced earlier in the show to move onto the Queen of the Ring semifinals. The full brackets for both sides were also revealed during this week’s show. We will keep a close eye on the 2025 King of the Ring tournament. Obviously, the winner of this big match will go on to get a big opportunity this year.

Sami Zayn Destroyed After Rejecting Seth Rollins’ Offer During 4/28 WWE RAW

Sami Zayn Destroyed After Rejecting Seth Rollins' Offer During 4/28 WWE RAW

The April 28 episode of WWE RAW rolled into the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. That included a big storyline development for Sami Zayn.

WWE RAW opened up this week with Seth Rollins telling Sami Zayn that he needs to go to SmackDown. WWE RAW started with the new stable entering the ring. Breakker, Paul Heyman, and Seth Rollins wore suits as Rollins led the crowd in singing his song. After a bit of a promo, Sami Zayn interrupted.

Zayn confronted Rollins, accusing him of hypocrisy for aligning with Heyman. Rollins defended the partnership and said he was the right choice to lead WWE. Zayn threatened Breakker, and Rollins warned that they were building the future with or without him. Rollins offered to move Zayn off RAW and gave him until the end of the show to decide.

During the show, Zayn received an amazing offer if he took them up on this move to SmackDown. He was told that he would get the winner of John Cena and Randy Orton’s Backlash match.

The show closed out this week with Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn coming to a head in the middle of the ring. Zayn had to make a decision about what he was going to do about this.

Seth Rollins started things out by talking about how great of a friend Sami Zayn has always been. He said that he wanted Zayn to take the out and go to SmackDown. He wanted him to take whatever offer Heyman had set up for him. He said he loves Sami, and he begged him to take the out.

Sami Zayn said that Rollins was dangling a World Title match in front of him like a carrot, and he will become a World Champion, but it won’t be because he took Rollins up on any deal. Zayn said that he respects and loves Rollins as a friend, but “this is me telling you to go to Hell.”

Bron Breakker’s music hit next. Then a singles match between Zayn and Breakker started. After a hard-fought match, one that Zayn could have won if he only landed a Helluva Kick, the Underdog from the Underground ate two spears. Seth Rollins told Zayn that there is still time to take the deal, and Zayn told him to “go to hell” once again. Then Breakker nailed a third spear before Zayn rolled to ringside. The referee called for the EMTs, and they tended to Zayn.

Seth Rollins then gave the signal to Bron Breakker, who ran around the ring to nail Sami Zayn with another spear. As Seth stood still, Breakker threw Zayn back in the ring. The referee called for the bell and fans in Kansas City booed them. Then Rollins nailed a stomp on Zayn as officials tended to him in the ring. This week’s show ended with Rollins posing for fans as they sang his song.

We will keep a close eye on this story, because all eyes seem to be on Seth Rollins right now more than ever. With Paul Heyman involved, you know it will get a bit of special creative treatment.

What’s your take on Sami Zayn’s decision on WWE RAW this week? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Seth Rollins Makes Sami Zayn Career-Altering Offer During 4/28 WWE RAW

Seth Rollins Makes Sami Zayn Career-Altering Offer During 4/28 WWE RAW

The April 28 episode of WWE RAW rolled into the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. That included hearing from Paul Heyman’s new crew after a very big RAW after WrestleMania 41.

Paul Heyman seemingly formed a new Dangerous Alliance on RAW last week. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker are by his side, and it’s anyone’s guess what’s next.

This week’s WWE RAW kicked off with the new stable making their way to the ring. Breakker wore a suit, and so did Paul Heyman. Seth Rollins was dressed to the 9s as usual, and he was very happy to be there.

Rollins got fans to sing his song once again after the dogs started barking at Breakker. Then the Visionary finally got around to welcoming Kansas City to Money Night Rollins. He was also quick to bring up how he won the main event of WrestleMania 41 night 1.

Seth Rollins then went on to say that he is the future of the pro wrestling industry, with Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker flanking them. He said the future of the industry goes through him, as Sami Zayn’s music hit.

The Underdog from the Underground came out to confront this new faction, and he had fans in Kansas City singing his song. Zayn got right to telling Rollins that “this is a load of crap, man,” because Paul Heyman is with him as he just trash talked CM Punk and Roman Reigns. Rollins said that this union with Heyman is different. Zayn then suggested that Rollins was just jealous of them.

Seth Rollins said that he’s the best man for the job of being front and center in WWE, but Sami Zayn said that is hypocritical. Rollins said that he doesn’t have the Bloodline, and he doesn’t like the comparison. Then Zayn brought up how Breakker was eyeing him, and he threatened to kick his face in.

Rollins said that his faction is the vision for the future. He doesn’t want Sami to be their enemy, but the only option is to follow them or get run over. Then Seth offered to get Zayn moved off of WWE RAW to get away from them. Seth Rollins then told Sami to think about it, but they need an answer by the end of the show.

We will have to see what’s next for this new faction in WWE. Obviously, they are going to stir the pot, and that will only gain them more attention.

What’s your take on Paul Heyman’s new faction? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
