Hardy Boyz Win NXT Tag Team Titles During 10/7 ShowDown Special

The Hardy Boyz have cemented themselves in further into pro wrestling history.

The ShowDown event on the October 7 episode of WWE NXT also featured a Tag Team Championship Unification Match that brought together two generations of tag team wrestling. Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin of DarkState represented NXT as tag team champions, while TNA sent Matt and Jeff Hardy as with their tag team titles.

The two teams met with both championships on the line, each looking to walk away as the unified titleholders. Naturally, this was a match that a lot of people had their eyes on.

This match kicked off the historic show, and the Hardy Boyz showed up for their 3rd match in NXT ever, as they wore all white for the occasion. The Dudley Boyz and TNA President Carlos Silva were also at ringside for the match.

The Hardy Boyz are shoo-in WWE Hall of Famers, but they have never held the NXT Tag Team Titles. They walked into ShowDown with the full intention of adding another title to their vast collection.

Although only two members of DarkState were supposed to be in this match, all four members jumped the Hardy Boyz to start things off. Then Matt and Jeff fought them all off before the bell even rang. Then things got going, as both teams tried their best to keep up the match’s momentum and gain an advantage.

They wrestled through a commercial break, and by the time we came back, Jeff Hardy was selling in the middle of the ring. Fans chanted for Hardy as the match continued. Then Jeff nailed a Whisper In The Wind on both DarkState members, so he could tag in his Broken brother.

Matt Hardy was able to get out of Doomsday Device and hit a Twist of Fate on each member. Jeff got the tag after that and he climbed up for a Swanton Bomb to win the match and claim the NXT Tag Team Titles. History was made at ShowDown, and now the Hardy Boyz will be around NXT much more often.

Maxxine Dupri Pulls Off Major Upset Win Over Becky Lynch During 10/6 WWE RAW

Maxxine Dupri Pulls Off Major Upset Win Over Becky Lynch During 10/6 WWE RAW

Becky Lynch didn’t know what was going to hit her, and she suffered a big upset loss this week because of it. This wasn’t the best look for the Women’s IC Champion, either.

The October 6 episode of WWE RAW went down at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The show saw Becky Lynch face off against Maxxine Dupri, and that was quite a match.

Dupri had fans going in a big way during RAW this week. They were all behind her, as they wanted to see an upset win. In the end, Becky Lynch threw everything she had at her, but it wasn’t enough.

Maxxine Dupri wasn’t able to get a pinfall victory over Becky Lynch, either. She tried hard, and had the fans behind her in a big way, but that was not enough. In the end, she did win in another way.

Becky Lynch was taken outside the ring, and she ignored the referee’s count. That resulted in her not being able to get back in the ring in time to beat the count, so she lost the match.

After her big win, Maxxine Dupri celebrated in a big way. She left, and Becky Lynch didn’t seem happy at all. Needless to say, this marks one of the biggest wins in Durpi’s in-ring career, and for good reason.

What’s your take on Maxxine Dupri beating Becky Lynch this week on WWE RAW? Do you think that this will result in an IC Title match? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Roman Reigns Set For Australian Street Fight At WWE Crown Jewel Perth

Roman Reigns Set For Australian Street Fight At WWE Crown Jewel Perth

Roman Reigns will have quite a fight ahead of him in Australia.

The October 6 episode of WWE RAW went down at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This was a big episode, and we also saw the OTC in the house as it served as the go-home episode before Crown Jewel on October 11.

Roman Reigns opened up the show this week, and fans were more than ready to acknowledge their Tribal Chief. However, he didn’t get much of his intro out before Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman interrupted. That left many to wonder where Bron Breakker was hiding.

The Oracle took his time before starting with his promo. Reigns called him out for staring at him, and then Heyman started. He wanted people to acknowledge their tribal their, Bronson Reed, so they booed him. Heyman then pointed out how Reigns was carted off via a stretcher after Reed destroyed him, something that’s never happened to him before in his career.

Bronson Reed pointed out how Roman’s father, Sika, and all of his uncles were never stretchered out. Then he asked how they would feel about Reed causing him to get stretchered out. Reigns then said that Reed didn’t know his father or uncles, but “the dumbass next to you did.” Then, Reigns said that his father would tell him to “fight him now.”

That is when Roman Reigns said that Paul Heyman has words of a coward, as Heyman tried to get Reed not to fight him. Reigns said that he’s levels above Reed, and it doesn’t matter where they fight, or how they fight, because “I’m always gonna be your Tribal Chief.”

Then Paul Heyman said that Bronson Reed will take on Roman Reigns this Saturday at Crown Jewel in a match that Reed dominates in. They will face each other in an Australian street fight. So, Reigns accepted. The two brawled a bit after that, and they had to be separated.

What’s your take on Roman Reigns’ road in WWE at this point? Will he have another impressive title run coming for him? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Team NXT vs. TNA Match Participants For ShowDown Revealed

The ShowDown special will have a couple big special matches.

WWE’s NXT brand had a lot to get to for their September 30 episode. That included a big segment that will help shape next week’s NXT.

WWE’s NXT brand and TNA Wrestling will present a big special on October 7. Although they may have changed the branding for the show, the two pro wrestling entities will have a Survivor Series style match during the show.

During this week’s NXT, TNA Wrestling’s Director of Authority, Santino Marella, and NXT General Manager, Ava, were on hand to reveal who they have picked for that match during the October 7 special.

Ava came out during Ricky Saints and Jacy Jayne’s opening segment to reveal that they are the team captains for the Survivor Series style match up on next week’s episode of NXT. They must now pick their own teams, and Ava told them to put pride aside.

Santino Marella came out after that, and he revealed that Trick Williams won’t be his captain. So, Mike Santana and Kelani Jordan will be his team captions. They will also get to pick their teams.

Later on, Ricky Saints had a segment in the NXT locker room. It was full of stars, and they all wanted in the match, especially Trick Williams. He picked Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans. Only one spot remained, and then a match was booked with Josh Briggs versus Myles Borne later on in the night to determine the final spot, which Myles Borne won, with Matt Cardona’s help. So, the men’s NXT team will be Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Myles Borne.

Jacy Jayne said that Jaida Parker and Sol Ruca are very strong members for her team, because they’re both winners. Lola Vice and Fallon Henley both wanted the last spot, so a match was booked later on, which Vice won. So, the women’s team from NXT will be Jacy Jayne, Jaida Parker, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice.

The TNA Wrestling side of this historic match was announced later on in the night during the ShowDown Summit segment. Mike Santana revealed that his team will be Leon Slater, Moose, and Frankie Kazarian.

Also, TNA Knockouts Champion, Kelani Jordan, revealed that her women’s team for TNA at ShowDown will be Jessica McKay, Cassie Lee, and Mara Sadé.

That is quite a pair of Survivor Series style matches, and we’re getting it in October. Only time will tell how those matches turn out.
