Toni Storm Survives Athena’s Challenge To Retain AEW Women's Title At Forbidden Door

The AEW Women’s World Championship is still Timeless.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door went down at the O2 Arena in London. This was a night full of big action, including the AEW Women’s World Title.

“Timeless” Toni Storm has been on a roll since recapturing the title. That being said, Athena cashed in her guaranteed title shot to step up in this Forbidden Door matchup.

Athena was walking into this match as the ROH Women’s Champion. Win or lose this match, Athena would still keep that gold around her waist. This match was placed second to last on the night, and fans were more than ready to see it go down.

The O2 Arena was full of chants for Toni Storm as this match got started. Eventually, Athena took control of the match as Storm sold for the challenger. This match also saw Jim Ross leave the commentary table as Bryan Danielson joined them once again, as the WWE Hall of Famer was around for the prior Unified Title match.

The two eventually started trading blows in the middle of the ring, and Athena put Toni Storm down with a headbutt, but it only got a two count out of it. The match continued and Athena proved why she’s been the ROH Women’s Champion for nearly 1,000 days.

Toni Storm nailed a Storm Zero, but she couldn’t pull down the win. Billie Starks tried to get a chair to hit Toni Storm, but then Mina Shirakawa showed up to chase her off. Toni played opossum for a bit, and then got a roll-up for a near fall. Eventually, Toni locked in her chicken wing to get the submission.

The AEW Women’s Title picture is certainly interesting. Only time will tell who holds the title next, but Forbidden Door gave the division an incredible example of what they can bring to the table.

Brodido Wins AEW Tag Team Titles At Forbidden Door 2025

There are new champions in AEW.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door went down at the O2 Arena in London. The AEW World Tag Team Titles were also defended in a hard-hitting match.

The AEW Tag Team Championship was defended in a three-way match as The Hurt Syndicate, represented by Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, put their titles on the line against the team of Brodido, made up of Brody King and Bandido, and FTR.

Fans in the O2 Arena filled the air with “We Hurt People” chants in sing-song fashion throughout this match. Although the fans made their pick very clear, every team had a chance to show off in this match to hurt their opponents.

Midway through the match, two masked men in NJPW gear attacked Bobby Lashley. Then a chair was introduced into the match to Dax Harwood, but Bandido kicked it into his face. The match continued as Brody took an unprotected chair shot, but he kicked out at two. Then it was revealed that Ricochet and his cronies were the ones who attacked Lashley. This led some fans to question why they would come in masked only to reveal themselves during the match.

The contest carried on as Bandido nailed a double team move to win the match. This crowned Brodido as the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

We will keep a close eye on what the Hurt Syndicate does next. At this rate, they are on pace to do even greater things in AEW. After all, they have a lot of stories left to tell, especially after losing the titles like this.

This was promoted as Mercedes Moné’s biggest challenge to date. Bozilla was also looking to make a lot of noise in this match, as the STARDOM standout was making her AEW debut. Fans were also chanting for the CEO long before her entrance, and she also received a special royal introduction as Queen’s Guards walked out holding her many titles.

This match gave everyone a chance to steal the spotlight, and the fans applauded their efforts. Overall, the London crowd appreciated the pro wrestling, especially the innovative moves that Bozilla and Mercedes could bring to the table.

Mercedes actually won a 9th title last night, which they brought up on commentary. She tried to nail a Money Maker midway through the match, but it was blocked. Bozilla was very impressive throughout the match as she used her power to throw opponents all over the ring.

Eventually, Mercedes locked on a double Statement Maker on Windsor and Persephone, but they broke out of it. Then Windsor got a double sharpshooter on Mercedes and Persephone, but this was easily broken up by Bozilla.

Bozilla got Mercedes up for a fisherman buster, but it was reversed into a poisonrana. Then the match carried on and then Mercedes was able to finally get the victory and retain her title as she beat Persephone. This was a hard-fought match, one that saw the CEO beat the odds.

We will have to see what is next for the AEW TBS Title. At this point, it has been represented well, but only time will tell who steps up next to challenge for the title.

Kyle Fletcher Retains TNT Title After Hard-Fought Forbidden Door Match

The Protostar is still TNT’s Champion.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door went down at the O2 Arena in London. The TNT Title was on the line during the night, and that was quite a match on Forbidden Door.

The TNT Championship was defended in a match where Kyle Fletcher defended the title against Hiromu Takahashi. Both entered the contest with a lot to prove as neither one wanted to give their opponent the satisfaction of winning.

This match went on second of the night. As Bryan Danielson sat on commentary, he said that Kyle Fletcher is “without a doubt” a future AEW World Heavyweight Champion. Don Callis liked hearing that as he sat on the booth during his client’s match.

There were tons of near falls in this match, as one would expect. Takahashi was able to come back and mount a lot of offense, including a powerbomb to the outside of the ring. However, he couldn’t score the victory. Fletcher continued the match on top, and Takahashi kicked out of a jumping tombstone.

Finally, Kyle Fletcher was able to score the win and retain the TNT Title after nailing a brainbuster. This was quite a hard-fought match, and Fletcher deserves all the credit for retaining.

We will keep a close eye on the TNT Title. It has been elevated to become one of AEW’s bigger secondary titles. At this point, we will have to see what happens next in the future to affect the history of this championship.
