Tiffany Stratton Retains Women's Title In Hard Fought Contest At SummerSlam 2025

It’s still Tiffy Time in WWE.

WWE’s SummerSlam event was a powerful display of the company’s continued dominance, and they kicked things off with a bang on Saturday.

Tiffany Stratton has beat all kinds of competitors since arriving on the WWE main roster. From a WWE Hall of Famer in Trish Stratus to The Queen Charlotte Flair, it seemed that Stratton was undefeatable, but she hadn’t faced Jade Cargill yet.

Tiffy Time had to know a storm was coming as she walked into MetLife Stadium for Saturday night’s event. This contest also got a big fight feel thanks to the ring introductions from Alicia Taylor.

Cardi B was also ringside for this match, and she was all for Jade Cargill becoming champion. That being said, Tiffany Stratton wasn’t about to give up her title on her seventh defense, or at any other time.

This was a back-and-forth match, and eventually Cargill had control after getting her knees up for a Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Then Cargill hit her Jaded, but Tiffany was able to get her foot on the rope during a roll-up pin.

The match continued as Cargill nailed a chokeslam and Tiffany Stratton got in the corner. Then they got to the top rope for a Jaded from the top rope, but Stratton was able to reverse it at the last minute and hit a Prettiest Moonsault Ever to retain her title.

We will have to see how they continue from this point. There are a lot of possibilities, and SummerSlam always gives WWE an opportunity to move everyone into bigger things as they continue.

Cardi B Kicks Off SummerSlam 2025 As Host To Hype MetLife Stadium Crowd

Cardi B Kicks Off SummerSlam 2025 As Host To Hype MetLife Stadium Crowd

WWE brought their first-ever two-night SummerSlam event to MetLife Stadium. That premium live event, and one of this size, needed a big start to kick things off.

SummerSlam Saturday opened up with Cardi B making her way out. They gave her a grand entrance as a rap superstar, and then she made her way out wearing all black. It was also evident that nobody in the building came to see her, because she received almost no pop from the 50,000 fans in attendance.

Cardi B took the microphone and announced that SummerSlam is coming live from the tri-state. She got fans going as she hyped the history-making night for the first-ever two-night SummerSlam. Then she plugged Logan Paul and Randy Orton before saying “I love me some Randy Orton.”

At that point, Cardi B welcomed everyone to SummerSlam, and they set off some pyro. This was quite a start for the biggest party of the summer.

Cardi B has been absent from SummerSlam advertisements for a while, although she was featured in the initial announcement for the August 2 and 3 event. This led some to believe that she may not be a part of the event, especially considering the controversy surrounding her ex-boyfriend Stephon Diggs as he was wrapped up in a drug scandal.

We will have to see what happens next to capture our attention, but we will certainly be here to cover it here at Ringside News. SummerSlam 2025 was a historic night on Saturday.

MJF Sets Stage For Major 8/6 AEW Dynamite Main Event Match

MJF Sets Stage For Major 8/6 AEW Dynamite Main Event Match

The August 6 episode of AEW Dynamite will have quite a main event.

The July 30 episode of AEW Dynamite went down at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois. The night ended by setting up a big match for next week.

Mark Briscoe and Ricochet battled in the main event of the night during Dynamite this week. In the end, Briscoe would win, but that wasn’t all.

MJF showed up on the screen, and he made it clear that he will face Mark Briscoe in the main event of AEW Dynamite next week in Cleveland. That match could have major implications, because Hangman Page made it clear that Briscoe was ahead of MJF in the line.

MJF wants another shot at the AEW World Title. He doesn’t want to have to cash in his guaranteed contract in order to get that match, either. So, he will try to get Briscoe next week to jump ahead in the line.

After this challenge from MJF, Mark Briscoe found himself getting jumped by MJF. Then MJF took off his button-up shirt to reveal a t-shirt that said “MJF Did Nothing Wrong.” That was quite a turn for the show, and we will have to see how things pan out next week.

Darby Allin Takes Sick Balcony Dive During Hangman Page World Title Defense On 7/30 AEW Dynamite

Darby Allin Takes Sick Balcony Dive During Hangman Page World Title Defense On 7/30 AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite on July 30 brought violence, blood, and one jaw-dropping moment from Darby Allin that left fans stunned.

The second hour of the Chicago show opened with a brutal AEW World Championship match as Hangman Page defended his title against Jon Moxley. The match was exactly what you’d expect from these two—chaotic, physical, and bloody. Moxley even drove Hangman head-first into the steel ring steps with a vicious piledriver that split the champion open.

But the moment that had everyone on their feet didn’t come from either man in the ring. After the referee was taken out, chaos erupted. Despite ringside being banned, the Death Riders hit the scene, trying to give Moxley the edge. That’s when Darby Allin made his presence felt in a way only he can—by launching himself off a balcony like a human missile.

With security trying to drag the Death Riders out, Darby dove from high above and crashed onto the pile below in a moment that had the entire Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom erupting. It was a true car crash moment—raw, reckless, and 100% Darby.

Back in the ring, Hangman Page survived the carnage. He hit a Dead Eye and followed it up with two Buckshot Lariats to put Moxley down clean, retaining the AEW World Title.

Darby Allin may not have been scheduled for the match, but he sure made an impact. His balcony dive added another layer of chaos to a match already on fire and reminded everyone why he’s one of AEW’s most fearless stars.

What did you think of Darby Allin’s wild dive and Hangman’s title defense? Is this the kind of unhinged drama AEW needs more of? Sound off in the comments and let us know.

Christian Cage Rocked With Double Chair Shot To The Head During 7/30 AEW Dynamite

Christian Cage Rocked With Double Chair Shot To The Head During 7/30 AEW Dynamite

The July 30 episode of AEW Dynamite went down at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois. This included a big return for Christian Cage.

This week on Dynamite, after MJF was ejected from the Hurt Syndicate, Christian Cage made his comeback. That was a long time coming, as the hated heel made his return to AEW.

Christian Cage spoke about how the Patriarchy was dismantled at All In, and how Adam Copeland returned. This led Cage to re-introduce himself as “an asshole.” Fans were all behind this proclamation as they cheered the heel on and chanted “asshole” in his general direction.

He spoke about how he walked into Revolution with the intention of winning the title, but that wasn’t in the cards for him. He also didn’t have great things to say about Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian, whom he used to lead as part of his stable.

Then he turned his attention to Adam Copeland, because he heard what the Rated R Superstar said in his promo. Cope said that Christian was going to make him a cripple with a smile on his face, even take care of his wife, Beth Phoenix. Then Cage wondered if the things he said was really that bad. He said that Cope understands the “game within the game.” He then suggested that Cope get off of his high horse, then his head would rest easily on his piles of money.

Cage addressed how Cope told him to “find himself.” He didn’t have very good things to say about that. This was one insult and comment coated in double-meaning after another, some of those illusions were a bit more NSFW.

At that point, Christian Cage adressed his former stable once again. He said that Nick Wayne already has a dead father, and now he has another father who’s dead to him. Christian Cage then said that he disowned them as well. As Christian left, Mama Wayne confronted him and then Nick Wayne jumped out of nowhere with his title belt and laid him out. Then they set Cage up with a double chair shot to the head, which was a brutal spot.

What’s your take on Christian Cage’s storyline in AEW? Is he still on top of his game? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
