Don Callis Family Fails To Win Tag Team Titles At AEW WrestleDream 2025

The AEW Tag Team Division is full of competition. That being said, whoever steps up to the titles next needs to be ready for a fight.

AEW WrestleDream 2025 went down on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.

At AEW WrestleDream, the AEW World Tag Team Championship match featured Brodido defending the titles against the Don Callis Family, represented by Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita.

The Don Callis Family has been on a tear recently, and their growing numbers have signified their influence. Now, at WrestleDream, two of Callis’ heaviest hitters had a chance to steal the show in a tag team title match.

This match went on after Mercedes Mone made pro wrestling history at WrestleDream. Then it was time for the Don Callis Family to come out, as they tried to become double champions.

This match included a lot of strength testing. Neither side wanted to back down, and fans were more than behind the idea of seeing these four men go the distance.

This was a real back and forth match, and Brody King put the challengers through a human car wreck in the corner with a cannonball. Eventually, Okada turned things around by hitting a neck breaker on King to lay both competitors out.

Bandido hit a huge backfist on Takeshita, but then his next move was countered by a counter, but then everyone got in the ring to trade moves after that. There were also a ton of near falls as the match reached its climax.

In the end, Bandido was able to pull off a clean win to retain the titles. This was a big shock for Don Callis, and not the result he was looking for at all.

It’s anyone’s guess what the AEW Tag Team Division will bring to the table next. WrestleDream certainly provided a great showcase match, and we will be here for whatever happens next.

Mercedes Mone Breaks Pro Wrestling History With 11th Championship Win At AEW WrestleDream

Mercedes Mone Breaks Pro Wrestling History With 11th Championship Win At AEW WrestleDream

AEW WrestleDream 2025 delivered a massive night from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, but nothing stood out more than Mercedes Mone making history. The CEO walked into WrestleDream with the TBS Championship on the line and walked out with her 11th career title, officially setting a new record in pro wrestling.

Mone issued an open challenge at WrestleDream, and speculation swirled about who would step up. The answer came when Mina Shirakawa arrived as the ROH Women’s Television Champion. That turned the bout into a title-for-title showdown, guaranteeing fans a new double champion before the night was over.

The match was physical from the start, with Mina taking control through her striking offense and working over Mone’s knee. Near falls and submission holds pushed the action to the limit. At one point, Mercedes dug into her bag of tricks, nailing a thumb to the eye before hitting the Statement Maker. Even after connecting with a Money Maker, she still couldn’t keep Mina down.

In the end, Mone pulled out a roll-up pin and used the ropes for leverage to secure the victory. Her win didn’t end quietly, as Kris Statlander stormed out immediately after to cut off her celebration and get revenge.

With the victory, Mercedes now stands alone in history, holding 11 recognized championship belts—surpassing Ultimo Dragon’s previous record. To mark the milestone, she even updated her social media name to “Ultimo Mone” recently.

Do you think Mercedes Mone’s record-breaking run proves she’s the greatest of her era, or will someone else eventually top her reign of championships? Share your thoughts in the comments.

WWE Writes Jacob Fatu Off Television in Brutal Fashion During 10/17 WWE SmackDown

Sometimes a WWE Superstar will get injured outside of the ring, and the company has to deal with it. They handled things uniquely with Jacob Fatu.

WWE SmackDown went down at the SAP Center in San Jose, California on October 17. Sadly, that episode included getting Jacob Fatu off television, and that absence could be a longer one.

WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis opened up the show this week by stating that Drew McIntyre versus Jacob Fatu is now a #1 contender match for Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship. Then Cody came out to a roar from the crowd.

Cody Rhodes addressed his WWE Crown Jewel loss, but then he moved it along by saying that he will handle SmackDown business. He then hyped the upcoming #1 contenders match, including Jacob Fatu in San Jose, as those fans cheered big time for their hometown boy.

Later on in the night, Jacob Fatu had a backstage segment with Cody Rhodes, where he promised to show him the real meaning of “ghost ride the whip,” after he beats Drew McIntrye. Rhodes seemed down to face Fatu as he said, “I hope you’re right.”

Later on, right before the main event started, Jacob Fatu didn’t make it to the ring. Instead, he was shown pinned to the ground under a bunch of production equipment, bleeding from his mouth.

The show cut to commercial after that, as WWE SmackDown personnel flocked to Jacob Fatu as he laid bleeding on the ground. This was a shocking move, but it also wrote him out of the storyline, and it’s likely he will be out of action for the rest of the year. After that, Drew McIntyre took to the ring as Jacob Fatu was left injured backstage.

Fans were shocked to hear that Jacob Fatu was sidelined due to a non-wrestling related injury. He will be out of action for some time now. That certainly halted his momentum just as he was really picking up steam.

It was later revealed that Cody Rhodes was set to replace Jacob Fatu during tonight’s SmackDown. That was a shame for fans who wanted to see the Samoan Werewolf do his thing.
