The era of Mercedes Mone was already on the horizon upon her arrival to AEW in March and was solidified at last weekend’s AEW Double or Nothing when she defeated Willow Nightingale and became the new AEW TBS Champion.
On tonight’s May 29 edition of AEW Dynamite, The CEO arrived in spectacular fashion for the celebrations of her glorious title win against the same woman who put her on the shelf for nearly a year with a career-threatening injury.
With the entire ringside decorated for her celebrations, Mercedes began by reflecting on her AEW arrival, her match with Willow Nightingale and even reflecting on Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway. She then turned the attention to herself, vowing to be one of the best TBS champions in AEW starting with Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
However, her celebrations were cut short with Skye Blue appeared on the titantron, who was revealed to be the mystery attacker that laid out Mone during her interview a few weeks ago. After a chilling warning, Blue then blindsided The CEO with another attack making a statement at the expense of the new champion.
