Shawn Michaels Lays Out Kevin Owens With Sweet Chin Music During WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Contract Signing

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event took place at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center for the first time on January 25. The event served as a lead-up to the Royal Rumble on February 1. The night built toward the event in Lucas Oil Stadium, and that included a big contract signing.

Kevin Owens stole the Winged Eagle Championship at the last Saturday Night’s Main Event. That historic title belt saw another SNME special this week as Shawn Michaels was there with a special task to take it from him. Cody Rhodes was also on hand to surrender his Undisputed WWE Title, because the two will collide at the Royal Rumble in a ladder match.

This segment closed out the first hour of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The contract signing came right after Bron Breakker retained the IC Title against Sheamus.

Shawn Michaels took the ring first as he introduced Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. Before he did, HBK gave love to his home city of San Antonio. Michaels said that SmackDown GM Nick Aldis couldn’t get the contracts signed, so he “sent in the closer,” and he intended on getting that contract signed.

Kevin Owens wore a red t-shirt that said, “Cody Sucks Eggs” in white font, but Cody Rhodes rocked an expensive suit as usual. The American Nightmare also posed on top of a ladder for the second pyro blast in his entrance.

Cody and Kevin stood face-to-face as fans chanted on. Then they ignored Shawn Michaels as he asked that they take a seat. HBK said “is that how we’re gonna do this? I can dig it,” so they remained standing as Michaels explained that they need to sign the Royal Rumble match contract.

Rhodes wasted no time in signing his portion of the contract. Then Kevin Owens went to do the same, but he grabbed the microphone instead. Owens said that Rhodes said something on the January 24 episode of SmackDown that upset him, because he doesn’t take the easy way out as Rhodes said he does.

Cody Rhodes just cut Kevin Owens off and told him that he’s not dwelling on the past. He just wanted Owens to sign the contract. Owens then said that he will shut everyone up at the Royal Rumble who say he’s not the true WWE Champion. He will do that by winning the ladder match on February 1.

Shawn Michaels interjected and said that Kevin Owens sounds jealous. That is something that Owens didn’t want to hear at all. Then he said that HBK would side with Cody, because he quit when times got tough, just like Rhodes did. Owens said that he will give fans a champion that won’t lose his smile. Then Owens finally signed the contract before shoving it into Shawn Michaels’ chest to hand it back to him.

After that, Shawn Michaels had a referee come in the ring and take both titles from Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. He hooked the belts up and they raised them above the ring, where they will remain until the Royal Rumble.

Kevin Owens took a cheap shot on Cody, and Shawn Michaels jumped in. Owens almost hit a packaged piledriver on him, but Cody kicked him. Then HBK landed a Sweet Chin Music on KO to close out the segment.

We will have to see how things turn out at the Royal Rumble in Lucas Oil Stadium, but the contract has been signed. Now, only one man will walk out of the Royal Rumble as Undisputed WWE Champion.

What’s your take on how the Royal Rumble will turn out? Will Kevin Owens take the win in Indianapolis? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Bam Margera Thrilled To Have Hulk Hogan at Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

Bam Margera Thrilled To Have Hulk Hogan at Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

Hulk Hogan has made a name for himself in pro wrestling, but he is also a big part of pop culture. Through his travels, he made many friends, including Bam Margera.

In 2018, Hulk Hogan confused Bam Margera for Ryan Dunn, as he sent out a RIP message for the former Viva La Bam star. Years later, and Hulk Hogan is now at Bam’s rehearsal dinner for his wedding.

Bam Margera, the 44-year-old Jackass alum, is officially engaged to his girlfriend, Dannii Marie. He popped the question to the model in October, marking an exciting new chapter in their relationship. It seems that they are about to tie the knot, and The Hulkster is there. Bam posted a photo of the three of them to celebrate this big occasion.

“Rehearsal dinner with the hogans in Clearwater, fl @hulkhogan”

This is interesting, because Hulk Hogan was reportedly pulled from Saturday Night’s Main Event tonight in Texas. He was used heavily in the promotion for the NBC special.

Hulk Hogan was booed heavily during the January 6 WWE RAW Netflix debut. That was notable for many reasons, and the company might have paid attention to that. This could have been a huge reason why he isn’t going to be at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’s good to see that he still got an invitation to Bam Margera’s festivities.

We will have to see when Hulk Hogan appears next. If anything, we know that he is still close with Bam Margera, especially considering their interesting history.

JBL’s Surprise Return Leaves Matt Cardona Laid Out in Title Match During 1/23 TNA iMPACT

JBL’s Surprise Return Leaves Matt Cardona Laid Out in Title Match During 1/23 TNA iMPACT

You never know when JBL will show up next. The former APA member was on WWE RAW’s January 20th episode. He then showed up once again during the January 23 episode of TNA Wrestling’s Impact television show.

After the former Zack Ryder showed up to confront Joe Hendry, Matt Cardona challenged for the TNA World Title in the main event of TNA Wrestling this week. That was quite a way to end the show, and it also had quite a finish for the match.

Near the end of the match, Matt Cardona left the ring, and he picked up the TNA World Title. He was about to get in the ring, and then JBL jumped the barricade and took him out with a Clothesline From Hell.

Joe Hendry and JBL had a moment without speaking before the WWE Hall of Famer left. This was followed by Cardona nailing Hendry with the title, but he didn’t get the win. Joe Hendry then retained the title with a Standing Ovation.

JBL was just on TNA Genesis last night, where he helped Joe Hendry out during his TNA World Title win. In fact, JBL has frequented a few different locations in the pro wrestling world recently, including a GCW appearance that meant hell froze over.

Tessa Blanchard Says She Is Better Than ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin During Heat-Filled Promo on TNA iMPACT

Tessa Blanchard Says She Is Better Than 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin During Heat-Filled Promo on TNA iMPACT

TNA Genesis 2025 is in the rearview mirror now, but the company is far from finished. Hot off the announcement of TNA’s big deal with WWE’s NXT brand, they bid farewell to Jordynne Grace, and Tessa Blanchard gave her a big loss at the last pay-per-view.

During the January 23 episode of TNA Impact Wrestling, Tessa Blanchard made her way out to the ring without about third minutes left in the show. She received a mixed reaction from the Texas crowd, to say the least.

Tessa made it clear that the Blanchard legacy started in Texas, and her family used to own San Antonio. She brought up a few more honorable mentions for her family’s history in the Texas territory. Then she threw shade on San Antonio for not having a good sports team, the Spurs don’t count, and losing the Alamo.

Tessa pointed out that her famous family knew that there was something in her that couldn’t be taught, something better than any Von Erich or “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. She was told from a young age that she was going to be great, and fans booed her out of the building, but Tessa barreled on with her promo.

Blanchard then said that you will hear a lot about her, but you will never hear that she’s not great. She said that beating Jordynne Grace was taking out the trash, and she answers to no one. That was quite a promo, as she further proved that she is a head-seeking magnet.

Tessa Blanchard’s return to TNA Wrestling wasn’t without controversy. She was TNA World Champion when she was released from the company. This came after a ton of stories about her backstage bullying antics and use of the N-Word. Blanchard was called out for spitting on La Rosa Negra and calling her the N-Word while on a tour of Japan. This was followed by a slew of wrestlers coming forward about her backstage bullying.

Mustafa Ali Reveals New Contract Upon TNA Return During 1/23 iMPACT

Mustafa Ali Reveals New Contract Upon TNA Return During 1/23 iMPACT

TNA Wrestling has a lot going on, and there is no shortage of fighting at the top of the roster. Now, it appears that we have another big time player eyeing a world title shot.

Mike Santana was on hand during the January 23 episode of TNA Wrestling Impact, where he addressed his big win at Genesis. Then he was interrupted by a former WWE Superstar.

Mustafa Ali came out, marking his return to the company. When Ali got in the ring, he announced that he has signed a deal with TNA Wrestling. This brought a big pop from the crowd.

Mustafa Ali then said that he wants to give TNA fans something to believe in. He is now launching his campaign to become TNA World Champion. This came off the heels of Santana making the same proclamation.

Mike Santana didn’t seem too happy about having his time cut short thanks to Mustafa Ali. The former X-Division Champion didn’t even pay a bit of attention to Santana, either.

We will have to see what’s next for Mustafa Ali in TNA Wrestling. He is now back with the company, and he has quite a goal in mind.

Wes Lee’s Unexpected Involvement Shakes Up NXT Tag Title Match During 1/23 TNA iMPACT

Wes Lee’s Unexpected Involvement Shakes Up NXT Tag Title Match During 1/23 TNA iMPACT

TNA Wrestling is fresh off the heels of their Genesis 2025 pay-per-view, and that included Nathan Frazer and Axiom showing up out of nowhere. This was part of the company’s new deal with WWE NXT, and the NXT Champions were on hand for a big match this week.

During the January 23 episode of TNA Wrestling Impact, Fraxiom defended the NXT Tag Team Championship against The Rascalz. The match featured both teams competing for the titles.

This match went down as the show started its second hour. TNA and NXT liaison, Arianna Grace, was on hand to introduce the NXT Tag Team Titles. She also sat in on commentary during the show.

This was a historic match, as it marked the first time a WWE title was ever defended on TNA television. Faxiom maintained control during the early moments, but the Rascalz showed their veteran expertise by fighting back.

There were a few near falls, and fans chanted “TNA!” whenever it looked like the challengers were going to pull down the titles. Eventually, both teams ended up on the mats, selling their injuries, as the fans chanted “Let’s Go Rascalz!”

Then Zachary Wentz nailed a kick, and then he tagged in Miguel to double-team Axiom. Nathan Frazer went for a move, but he ate a double superkick. The Rascalz pulled off a street sweeper double team move next, and that led to a very close two count.

We Lee showed up next to distract The Rascalz. That distraction let Axiom nail a top rope Spanish Fly as Nathan Frazer hit a splash to retain the titles. This was a fast-paced match, and it ended in rather controversial fashion. One has to wonder if the result would have been different if Wes Lee didn’t get involved.
