Triple H Sends IShowSpeed Into Royal Rumble Match—But It Doesn’t End Well

Triple H Sends IShowSpeed Into Royal Rumble Match—But It Doesn’t End Well

WWE brought the Royal Rumble to Lucas Oil Stadium, and you never know who will show up. The company had a ton of attention on them, and one of the biggest streamers in the world was on hand for the event.

Akira Tozawa was set to enter the Men’s Royal Rumble match at number nine, but Carmelo Hayes eliminated him before he could step into the ring. As a result, Tozawa never officially entered the match.

They took Tozawa backstage, and Triple H said that he couldn’t compete. Then he turned to find a replacement and found IShowSpeed.

IShowSpeed was around, because he was live-streaming backstage all night. He had some fun interviewing WWE Superstars, but he didn’t think that he’d get in on the action. Then things changed.

Triple H told IShowSpeed to get out there, and he did just that. Suddenly, IShowSpeed’s music hit, and he went to the ring. Speed helped Bron Breakker eliminate Otis, but his victory celebration didn’t last long.

Bron Breakker delivered a devastating spear on the famous Twitch streamer, which nearly broke him in half. Then he picked Speed up in a Gorilla Press and threw him over the ring. Otis caught Speed and then nailed a German Suplex on him over the announce table.

This was not the best appearance for IShowSpeed in the Royal Rumble match. He certainly took a lot of punishment in the short amount of time that he was around. We will have to see what is next for him, but his WWE fandom probably grew a lot in Indianapolis.

What’s your take on IShowSpeed’s time in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Kevin Owens Takes Brutal Bumps as Cody Rhodes Claims WWE Championship Victory at Royal Rumble

Kevin Owens Takes Brutal Bumps as Cody Rhodes Claims WWE Championship Victory at Royal Rumble

Over 65,000 WWE fans packed Lucas Oil Stadium for the 2025 Royal Rumble premium live event. There were a lot of reasons to tune in, and WWE gave a ton of attention to Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens’ ladder match in the build toward the event.

This match went on third of the event, after the WWE Tag Team Title match was ended thanks to the Street Profits interfering. The contest also received a big match feel, thanks to Alicia Taylor’s introductions.

Kevin Owens took the lead in this match early on, as Cody Rhodes sold the attack. It also didn’t take them very long to get a ladder involved, with Cody taking a bodyslam into the metal. The two fought in the crowd all over Lucas Oil Stadium after that.

The match continued, and Cody Rhodes did a lot of selling as Kevin Owens beat him around the ring. A bottom rung was broken off the ladder, giving Cody and Kevin both a chance to use it as a weapon. At one point, Kevin took a brutal back bump onto the ladder, and then he returned the favor by powerbombing Cody through a ladder that was propped up in the turnbuckle.

Cody then took a fisherman’s buster from Owens through a ladder that was propped up on the ropes and the ladder in the middle of the ring. That was another brutal spot as WWE officials went to the ring to check on Owens and Rhodes after that, including Sami Zayn, who spoke to Kevin Owens before checking on Rhodes. Then the match continued as Cody hit a Crossroads as a reversal from a Stunner by Owens. At that point, Kevin Owens was busted open the hard way after Cody slammed him against the announce table.

They battled on top of the announce table, and then Kevin Owens was put through a ladder at ringside with an Alabama Slam from the Undisputed WWE Champion. At that point, Cody Rhodes got in the ring and started climbing the ladder before he took them off to win the match. Kevin Owens still had officials surrounding him as Cody celebrated, leaving many to wonder about his condition.

This all really started at Bad Blood 2024, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes teamed with Roman Reigns to defeat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. After the event, Kevin Owens confronted Rhodes in the parking lot and attacked him. Owens saw Rhodes teaming with Reigns as a betrayal due to his own history with The Bloodline.

Then on December 14, at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Owens challenged Rhodes for the title, but he did not beat the American Nightmare. After the match, Owens attacked Rhodes with a package piledriver and stole the Winged Eagle belt.

SmackDown GM Nick Aldis demanded Owens return the Winged Eagle belt, but Owens refused unless he was granted a rematch. Cody Rhodes then challenged Owens to a ladder match at the Royal Rumble, with both the Undisputed WWE Championship and the Winged Eagle belt suspended above the ring. The two certainly did not disappoint in Lucas Oil Stadium.

This was quite an Undisputed WWE Title match, and only time will tell what other twists and turns fans see coming on the road to WrestleMania 41.

What’s your take on the ladder match at the Royal Rumble this year? Would you have booked the match like this? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Street Profits Stir Up WWE Tag Team Division After Shocking Royal Rumble Interference

Street Profits Stir Up WWE Tag Team Division After Shocking Royal Rumble Interference

WWE always delivers on the big stage, and the 2025 Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium was no exception. The card only had four announced matches, and the WWE Tag Team Championship was on the line as #DIY defended their titles against The Motor City Machine Guns in a two-out-of-three falls match.

With months of tension and controversy leading up to this tag team title match, both teams were prepared to leave it all in the ring. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin also got to perform at their very first Royal Rumble event with this contest.

This match was second on the card after the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble, where Charlotte Flair ended up pointing at the WrestleMania 41 sign. After a short beginning, Ciampa and Gargano picked up the first fall after Ciampa tagged in without MCMG noticing. Later on, the challengers got a tag, but the referee didn’t see it and that only helped the champions.

The second fall of the match ended with the Motor City Machine Guns tying things up after hitting a Skull and Bones on Johnny Gargano. With the match tied up at one win each, the next fall would determine the champions.

This match continued as the two teams battled and picked up near falls on both sides. The third fall of the contest got way more time, as it was winner take all. Then Gargano accidentally nailed Ciampa with a Superkick which left him to take the Motor City Machine Guns double team offense.

Suddenly, the Street Profits showed up in hoods and interrupted in the match. Angelo Dawkins used a crutch as a weapon, which let #DIY pick up the win to retain their titles. Then Dawkins and Montez Ford laid out the champions with that same crutch. This was certainly a big surprise.

The rivalry between #DIY and The Motor City Machine Guns has been building for a while. Ciampa and Gargano turned heel and were determined to reclaim the gold. On the November 15 episode of SmackDown, Ciampa interfered in a title match between The Motor City Machine Guns and The Street Profits, as he attacked both teams while Gargano tried to hold him back.

Then, during the December 6 SmackDown, #DIY shocked the WWE Universe by defeating The Motor City Machine Guns to regain the titles, turning full heel in the process. A January 3 rematch on SmackDown ended in chaos when a brawl between Los Garza and Pretty Deadly spilled into the ring. After weeks of battling, but never getting a full-fledged rematch, The Motor City Machine Guns finally got their chance and challenged #DIY to a two-out-of-three falls match at the Royal Rumble.

We will have to see how The Street Profits interjecting themselves in the picture changes things. They certainly threw a wrench in things for The Motor City Machine Guns at the Royal Rumble.

What’s your take on how WWE booked the 2025 Royal Rumble match? Could you have watched more than four matches on the card? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Shayna Baszler of Pure Fusion Collective was the eleventh entry, giving Stark an advantage with her stablemate in the match. Then Bayley joined the match in the twelfth slot. Maxxine Dupri was number fourteen in the match, with Naomi coming in halfway at number fifteen. Jaida Parker came in the number sixteen spot, marking her first-ever Royal Rumble match. Then, Piper Niven entered the match in the seventeenth spot, which made Chelsea Green very happy.

Natalya made her way to the ring in the eighteen entry, keeping her streak of appearing in every Women’s Royal Rumble match so far alive. Then Jorydnne Grace made her WWE debut in the nineteenth spot. Michin came out twentieth. Alexa Bliss came out next to blow the roof off the building with her long-awaited return.

Zelina Vega had the twenty-two spot in the match, and by that time the ring was filling up with twelve Superstars. Candice LeRae came out in the twenty-third spot.

Then, Stephanie Vaquer came out in the twenty-fourth spot. She received a massive pop in Indianapolis. Trish Stratus came out in the twenty-fifth spot, and that was a nice surprise to see the WWE Hall of Famer. Then, Raquel Rodriguez came out in the twenty-sixth spot, giving Liv Morgan some backup that she’s been looking for.

Charlotte Flair finally made her entrance in the twenty-seventh spot. The Queen got right to work upon her return. Then NXT Women’s Champion Giulia came in the twenty-eighth spot in the match. The twenty-ninth spot went to Nia Jax and Nikki Bella came out in the thirtieth entry.

The women then battled to see who would get eliminated next, with Nia Jax taking six women out of the match at the same time. The final six in the match were Nia Jax, Roxanne Perez, Nikki Bella, Charlotte Flair, Giulia, and Bayley.

In the end, the match went down to Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax and Roxanne Perez. Then Nia Jax was taken out, leaving only Charlotte Flair and Roxanne Perez. Then, Flair kicked Perez off the apron to win the match. This made Flair a two-time Women’s Royal Rumble winner.

We will have to see how the Road to WrestleMania 41 shapes up for the women’s division. We certainly have a big piece of the puzzle figured out at this point.

Trish got right to work and had some interactions with Jordynne Grace and Candice LeRae. Then she locked up with Natalya for a bit before getting squashed by Piper Niven.

Cody Rhodes & Michael Cole End Royal Rumble Kickoff Event Crowd-Surfing In Indianapolis

Cody Rhodes & Michael Cole End Royal Rumble Kickoff Event Crowd-Surfing In Indianapolis

WWE fans are more than ready for the Royal Rumble. Indianapolis held a Royal Rumble kickoff event, and it was quite a show. At one point, Triple H strongly hinted that the NBA’s Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton may also joining the Royal Rumble match.

Cody Rhodes was on hand to close out the Royal Rumble media event. He had a lot of fun with the fans in Indianapolis, and at the end of his appearance he did a bit of crowd work.

While calling out some signs in the crowd, Cody Rhodes noticed one that said “Bring Back Sheamus’ old Theme Song.” Rhodes seemed to agree with that as he echoed the statement. He also said that since he brought back the Winged Eagle championship, then he figured that he had the cloud to bring back Sheamus’ old music.

WWE changes theme songs for different reason. Since Jim Johnston had a hand in writing Written in my Face, odds are fans won’t hear it again. The company let Johnston go in 2017 and has since moved onto other songwriting sources.

After Cody Rhodes had some fun with the signs in the crowd, he suggested that Michael Cole go crowd-surfing. Pat McAfee was on hand to hold the microphone as Cody Rhodes joined Cole in the crowd. The broadcast ended with Cody and Michael crowd-surfing away.

We will have to see what happens next at the Royal Rumble. The media event was certainly an interesting time for fans in Indianapolis.
